Hi there!
I plan to add stuff to this blog post as the week goes by. So... this weeks first post! Brace yourselves.
Wednesday 1:12 18th of September.
It is the day. The day of joy, excitement and all that comes with playing a gig we've been waiting for for ages. The only problem is, I'm supposed to sleep a couple of hours before I actually get to the good part. So far it's been a great night. Not that I'm feeling particularly nervous for tomorrows huge gig but I still decided to play it cool, i.e. trying to get things off my mind. Today I ate a great pizza with Serrano & Pesto, not only @AxelKalland likes pizza. Then I played some タイムクライシス4 (Time Crisis 4) with a couple of friends before watching World War Z, which I actually enjoyed. (I also dried my hands in a Dyson Airblade <3) I don't wanna spoil too much but here's a few remarks.
[edit: SPOILERS don't read if you're too sensitive for a casual review]
I really enjoyed the multitude of the whole zombie aspect fighting wise. You had your typical american city zombie experience with people flocking the stores roaming for anything useful, humans acting out almost zombie-like behavior. Scouring huge apartments for signs of life and shelter (Think early Walking Dead). Then there was insane middle-eastern CGI battles where 10000 casualties seemed like a mosquito bite. The list goes on with secret missions by Navy SEALS that goes horribly wrong and ends up in a race to reach the final destination only to be faced with Resident Evil typed medical horror. Some really humorous lines and borderline slapstick comedy made this all quite a good mix of everything. No wonder this was the highest grossing film by Brad Pitt so far! I hope I don't have to explain to anyone that this is no Lynchian adventure (because sometimes people don't get the point with action movies) but it was really entertaining! I sometimes felt it had borderline B class qualities at some points, but only bringing out the best in them. I do recommend this film to anyone who doesn't take oneself too seriously.
(#nowplaying: Europe Endless - Kraftwerk)
As the icing on the cake the evening ended in an ARAM win in LoL, and here I am now writing this.
I'm looking forward for tomorrows gig, quite a bit. Haven't been this excited in a while. A huge arena gig live on national television... doesn't get much bigger than that! But what I'm waiting for the most is a memory I'll always have imprinted in my head. The feeling when we got on stage last spring and when the monstrous cheer from the whole Hartwall Arena hit our bodies like a shockwave. The strumming of the guitar made the whole arena shiver and we were invincible . That made me feel really good.
Now I really need to go to sleep, big day tomorrow! (let's see if I manage to update the blog this week :)
Stay Classy guys! Love ya!

#IfYouLoveMe
Hello hello hello!
This week is gonna be super! It's been over four months since we released Emma so it feels really good to have a new release coming up. And you all know what it's called: If You Love Me!! Yesterday we showed you the single cover and today we released the first teaser so now you might know what to expect. We saw the video for the first time today and we hope you're gonna like it as much as we do! Just a couple of days left;)
The other thing we've been waiting for is the Elämä Lapselle concert next week. It's gonna be the biggest show we've ever played and it's also gonna be aired live on tv. I've never been this nervous for a gig before.. I remember when I used to watch it on tv when I was a kid. I couldn't have even dreamed of playing on that stage one day. And now it's happening, in a week. Oh my.
We've got a lot of meetings coming up, including one about a Satin Circus Street Team. If you're interested, let us know! This is gonna be so much fun!
Even if we don't have an official street team yet, some of you have been very active in finding ways to spread our music. We're so thankful for everything you're doing<3
And you should all take part in this event Aino created: https://www.facebook.com/events/223606857797234/
If You Love Me will be released this Friday, and we're trying to get it to trend on Twitter by using the hashtag #IfYouLoveMe and posting the video, the single cover or really anything. As long as you write #IfYouLoveMe. It's gonna start at 18:00 (6PM) Finnish time. If we get it trending we're gonna come up with something very special that might or might not include a shirtless picture of Paul. Hehe.
Here's the first teaser of the video if you haven't seen it yet. The song will be available on iTunes, YouTube and Spotify this Friday!! #IfYouLoveMe
Ps. We're playing our acoustic set this Thursday in a bar called JallaJalla in Helsinki. If you're over 18 we hope to see you there! Free entry :)

Falling
Today was the first morning I felt that it really smelled like autumn. You see, there'd been a couple of cold days already, but I had not yet felt that vibrant scent of the first burst of chlorophyl leaving the green leaves. And I welcome this, beacause autumn is a time of rebirth, ironically. You finally get yourself together after a long and loose, yet wonderful summer. You quit your old schemes and pursue new challenges. You build up the base for a new creative goal, and let it blossom again next summer. Today I had a strong feeling that this fall is gonna be full of challenges that I or we have never yet experienced. You see, we are facing an ancient dilemma: THE SECOND ALBUM. Oh yes, dear reader, I know we haven't even released our first album yet, but it is now finished non the less, and the songwriting for the next one has started. And whatever the success or un-success of the first record may be, one thing is clear as crystal: the second album HAS to be (even) better!
And as if, but not on purpose, to nullify this great speech I give you this picture. It's not staged... :) Hurray. Towards new challenges ya all!

Last week we shot some new stuff to our upcoming music video. The location was very cool and I think we got some really nice footage! :) The release date is not that far away, so you get to see it soon and judge for yourself :)

monday monday
Hey!
This weeks highlight was probably the gig in Porvoo! Thank you. It was amazing. When we had packed our car and we were just about to leave I took my regular seat and I remember thinking to myself, "Feels good to be home". Being on the move & playing gigs makes me feel alive! I lurvv it.
The crowd was crazy at the gig and we signed autographs for hours after the gig! It was nice to meet so many new people that enjoy our music. Big up to the tech-crew, everything worked flawlessly! And the whole gig was streaming live on national radio which was pretty neat! Check out EMMA live HERE!

Our next gig is this Saturday (24.8) Mopo-rock in Roihuvuori! That's actually where I started my music career by playing the violin when I was 4! (I wanted to play the trumpet, but because of my asthma it wasn't such a great idea) Hope to see you all there!
| wtf? |
This was a really short blog entry. But you know what? Life is short, so go out there and enjoy yourself! I'm meeting up with a friend who's moving abroad to study, so I need to go :) There's not much left of the summer, so take your chance and go out on midnight swims, park picnics and eat your berries while they're still fresh! Autumn in soon here and you'll get to enjoy Paul's mushroom stories...
next week I'll think of something smarter to say. sometimes silence is gold.
stay classy

Nauvo & Lintsi!
Wow. What a week!
Going back to work has been the best thing that has happened this summer!
I love chilling and driving the boat and stuff and it was great to take a break from everything, but getting back to doing what you love most of all is the best possible way to end a vacation. We've been practicing every day and we've also been listening to our almost finished first album. It's gonna be so freakin amazing!!! We all have new favorite songs. Emma is great, but I have to say that the album has at least 5 songs that are even better ;)
This weekend has been one of the best weekends ever. On Friday I went to Linnanmäki with my friend. I hadn't been there since 2004 so there was a lot of new stuff to try! It was superfun, although we felt a little nervous in some of the machines :D
On Saturday we took off to Nauvo, a small town in the Finnish archipelago. Playing there felt amazing, it's been three weeks since our last gig and we really enjoyed playing live again. We had a much bigger audience than we had expected and everybody was having a great time! After the gig we had a lot of time to hang out with fans, something we always try to do. And when Krista Siegfrids performed later that night she asked us on stage to shoot at the audience with water guns :DD that was probably one of the funnest things I've ever done :D I recognized some of our fans in the front row and might have aimed a little at them although we were supposed to shoot in the air... :P hahahaaa but that was so funnnn!
After the gig we enjoyed the Nagu nightlife;) great night!!

The next morning we took off to Linnanmäki, this time to play a gig! A big group of fans were waiting for us like 6 hours before the gig, and that was kinda cool! When we finally got on stage we were overwhelmed by the big crowd, probably one of the biggest we've ever played for!! The gig was greater than ever, and we all enjoyed it a lot (although my feet were almost ripped off when I went in the front to play my saxophone solos) :D

Today we had a photo shoot for our album cover and other stuff. We had the best time ever. Great styling, great make up & hair, great photographer, great A&R, everything just felt just as it should. Sooooo good!! We're gonna get some veeeery cool photos!!

| photoshoot! more photos on Instagram :) |
Our next gig is next Friday in Porvoon Urheiluhalli. It's a big venue and playing there is gonna be supercoool! You should get there on time, I've heard that some girls are planning to start queueing at six in the morning…
You can get your tickets here :)
I don't know what more to say. It feels so good to be back. In the following weeks we're gonna finish the album and play more gigs. We're also filming some more stuff to our upcoming music video for the second single! See you soon! ;)

Finland-tour
Hi!
Sorry I'm late.. :(
It's been an awesome summer!! A lot of sunny days throughout in Helsinki. We're giggin' full time right now, Saturday in Nagu, Sunday in the amusement park Linnanmäki, next Friday in Porvoo, and so on. A tour in Finland nowadays means that you have gigs every weekend, only occasionally on workday evenings. So, we are on a Finland-Tour a.t.m!! YEAH!
I've fallen in love with the Finnish flora and fauna, again. Happens every summer.
In Houtskär:

We got new haircuts the other day in Loreal Studio. The coiffeur put at least a hundred different substances in it! Haha.
Me and John! =D
In my "R.E.S.P.E.C.T." Rediculously Experimentally Culinarist Paul's Extreme Cooking Thread foodblog I'm going to present you with a fresh food invention by me: The Pistachio Avocado Pasta. The core ingredient to the pasta is a pesto that contains a 100g pistaccio nuts, two handfuls of fresh basil, 1dl grated parmesan and pecorino cheeses in a blend of your choice, and two avocados. I saved a few nuts to be roasted to top the pasta, along with cherry tomatos, some grated parmesan and a few leaves of parcley. The whole idea for a pistachio based pesto was actually a cause of a co-incidece when I forgot to buy pine nuts which I normally use for pesto. I then happened to have pistachios left in my drawer. =D The final tweak to this pasta was also a creation of circumstances. One of the avocados I had bought for the pesto was raw!! Damn!! This has happened earlier, and I was relatively pissed. This wasn't something that I could take happening again! So I figured as much: You can't eat a raw potato, but if you cook it, it's glorious. (well the potato for example is not a fruit like the avocado so not a perfect line of thought... but still) SO I fried a few slices of avocado in sesame oil to give it some more taste, and you know what, IT WAS GREAT! The avocado doesn't taste much either raw or fried, but once fried it was warm and gained a nice meatish texture, with a crisp skin which complemented the otherwise a bit saucy and cold avocado pasta. HAHA perfect! It's a breakthrough!!! Eat that.
Sorry I'm late.. :(

Wet flop laptop
Hi Popsters,
I'm writing this post with my iPad. I love it and I will always stay by its side, but writing a bit longer text with it can be arduous (hah, yep Google Translate :D). So why I'm not writing this entry with my laptop? Well…

meh
Hi there!
Here I am, me and my bonbons, sitting in front of the screen wondering what to write about.
A cool breeze flows through my brain as I'm thinking... and nothing is found. Not a single piece of trash, not even a plastic bag dances in my thoughts right now. So I guess this will just be pointless mind flow.
We've been on vacation for a couple of days. I've spent quite a lot of my time with my family who are otherwise scattered all over the world. I'm so grateful to see them! Especially my little nephews and my niece. They'd probably get offended if I call them little tho! :)
Today I made hamburgers with my friend. They tasted delicious! I dare say they were even better then the lousy Hard Rock Café ones we went for last time. Complete rubbish! One hamburger joint you all ought to check out is NYC Burger in Ruoholahti. It's great! Then we watched Snatch. It was as good as I remembered.
I had so much fun on the Nosturi gig! So a huge thank you to all of the ones who were there! I managed to down the microphone stand like 5 times, quite proud of that! :) (& the meatballs backstage were quite tasty! Here is a list of our upcoming gigs! Hope to see you there!
10.8 Nagu Rock, Nauvo
11.8 Linnanmäki Back to School, Helsinki

18.9 Elämä Lapselle, Hartwall Areena, Helsinki
Olli bought a new acoustic guitar and he's been playing it a lot! Although we're having a short break and it's lovely I can't wait to get back and start working again!
I've tried to get a tan, but all in vain. I'm not made to look like a sun-kissed goddess, more like a cooked lobster, without the cooked lobster part since there's no sun here, so just back to my vampiric paleness.

Lovin' Summer, Summer Lovin'
Hi there! As the summer goes on, our instagram is turning more and more into a nature photography page. Well, it's just that whenever we see something beautiful we want you all to see it too. Simple :D
![]() |
Last week was gonna be our week off, but then we got mail from Sweden that some stuff should still be recorded. So as Olli took off to Kuopio and Paul went fixing a sail boat in Oulu, me and Krippe stayed in the studio recording some guitars and saxophone. It went pretty well and we're really close to having the album ready! We still need to record some backing vocals and ad libs, but after that we're finished. Feels great!! It's almost a year since we signed to Sony and started making this album.. It hasn't been easy but it has been worth all the hard work. The four songs we already mastered sound soooo good!! Can't wait for you all to hear them! We even recorded live strings to Sleep Tonight!
This weeks Friday we're having a gig in Nosturi, and then we'll probably take some time off again and enjoy the summer. August will be filled with work again so the best thing to do now is to relax.. You should do it too!
PS. I got the best fan gift ever last week!! Check it out:P
Thanks Aino & Aino! I guess saving water is something everybody should think about in the summer heat!
