Sorry I'm late, might be fate.

Yo yo yo!

What's up? Long time no see. I was supposed to release this blog on monday, but I was busy.
But this time I have a good reason! :) We were filming a music-video for our second single!

*cheers and applause*

me and Plu getting ready for the long day
We started at 10 o'clock fiddling around with some last minute cloth combination changes and trying to get everything right! Then we headed out to the archipelago and stayed there the whole day. I wasn't home in my bed until 3 o'clock at night! :) It was a tough day, but we had so much fun.

It wasn't too hot that day which was good because we shot quite a lot of us playing in this open mine pit. I even got a small tan :) We had a mini helicopter with us that got quite cool camera runs! (pictures on Instagram).

I don't wanna spoil too much about the video but I'll tell you it's going to be a little bit different. Obviously this time we're not in Miami but in our dearly beloved Finland and I think it shows our nordic heritage a little bit better. But then again I have no idea how it's going to turn out, we're all eagerly waiting for the first rough editions! But I got to swim in the sea, Olli lit up the sky with fireworks etc. so I bet it's going to be amazing! A HUGE shoutout to our director Sami Joensuu, our director of photography Mikko Timonen, Erin, Roberto and the whole crew! We had a great time! And it all ended with a big BBQ party on this beautiful island!
baby come and light my fire
In about 15min I have to leave and go and record some more vocals for our album. They take the most time because they have to be perfect :) Today we shot an episode for Summeri (a finnish summer program)! One of our fans wanted to surprise her friend by getting to meet us, so we did! It was lovely! They had made a beautiful scrapbook filled with pictures of us from all the different gigs they had been on! We played a few of their favorite tunes for them and answered questions. We we're also in Radio Nova a couple of weeks ago read about it here!

Also I want to brief you about our vines! We've been working on them extra hard with Paul! They usually include some kind of conflict that then get's solved. Example of that is our latest addition to the P&K Art Production !

Now I have to leave! Take care and see you around!
 -krippe ~~~ヾ(^∇^)'ー♪ ♥

ps. I only had a reason for it to be late on monday, from tuesday to thursday there is no excuse. sorry. (but I got a pentakill while playing Kennen in LoL yesterday [instead of writing this blog])

Roadtrip!

Roadtrips are the best! Since we (exactly) one year ago for the first time had a longer road trip (to Popkalaset in Jakobstad) I've loved the feeling. Being on the road with the best guys in the world is something you can't understand unless you've done it.

ROADTRIP!!

When we on Friday started our way towards Untorock in Utajärvi the car was filled with this special vibe telling us that this weekend is gonna be legendary. A week ago we managed to break a pier in Sysmä (among other things), and this place was like 7 times farther away, so it just had to be 7 times crazier… And oh man it was… We spent Friday on Olli's summer cottage in Leppävirta. We grilled, chilled, and enjoyed the sauna and the lake. (which was unbelievably cold btw :D)

Krippe doing what he does best!
Paul taking a bath :D
Olli with his Emmustache :DD

On Saturday morning we hit the highway and I drove straight to Utajärvi without a single stop. It wasn't that we didn't want to stop, there just weren't any places. Hundreds of kilometers without a single gas station, what if we'd run out of gas?? Good thing we didn't :D We arrived in the lovely town of Utajärvi in the afternoon and set up our stuff in the local ice hockey hall where the festival was held.

The gig was great, and esecially Sleep Tonight turned out to be a new crowd favorite. We've never played it live before, so I loved watching the audiences faces when they heard the melody, the lyrics, the gentle guitar and Olli's (non-acoustic gig) debut on the glockenspiel. It was the second time in my life that I actually got the chills during an own gig. The last time was 2007 so it's pretty huge. I learned to love that song even more. One other song that always seems to be working is Own the World Tonight. No matter where we go, everybody seems to love it. It's the ultimate live song: simple, easy to sing along, party-themed. AND the saxophone melody.. EVERYBODY loves the saxophone. Somehow the song never sounds good in the studio so it's not gonna be on our album, but there's always a second album...

Meeting the audience afterwards was fun as always. That's something we're gonna keep doing, meeting with fans after the gig. We're always gonna be the band that stays and talks, cause you're everything to us. Being there to talk to you and chill with you after the gig is the least we can do after all the support you show us. Meeting new people is nice, but what I love most is seeing when some of you travel hundreds of kilometers just to see us. Every time. And when that happens week after week it just… I don't know what to say. I love you.
Meeting fans :)

There is a saying: "After every great gig there's an even greater afterparty!" Ok, I just made that up but it should be a saying… Anyways, Ostrobothnia was one of the best after party places ever. The festival line up included Santa Cruz, the coolest rock band in Finland. You should check them out, those guys know what Rock n Roll is all about. I know the lead singer from high school, and when we went on tour like 4 years ago he once played a guitar solo on a ladder that was like 10 meters tall. That's what I call rock n roll!!

Santa Cruz!!

And rock bands know how to parteyyy… And so do the Pohojanmaa girls... After we'd watched the festival for a while we went to the spa/hotel where we were supposed to sleep. Well… We didn't sleep that much.. We spent most of the night at Santa Cruz's suite, where they had a sauna. Sometime around 3 we went rowing around a lake. Paul and Krippe were skinny dipping in the cold water and everybody was having a good time. I've got pictures but I'm pretty sure no one will ever see them...

----------

The way back to Helsinki was looong (600 km), but full of surprises. We stopped at the coolest place in Pyhäjärvi somewhere on the way. The place had all sorts of old bells and stuff, and there was an epic water fountain that played Bach :D

King Olli & the bells!

More bells..

The waitresses played melodies on the bells aswell :D
Okay, so that was one of the epic road trips, but not the last one.. I can't wait for the tours abroad.. Oh my, oh my..  And I hope we get to play (and party) with Santa Cruz again sometime! But until then, check out our Vine videos here: http://www.vineviewer.co/?username=satincircus

-------------

What's up next? Tomorrow we're getting new haircuts (!!!!!) and we're meeting with a stylist. Why now? Cause we're filming our second music video in a week!!!! It's gonna be awesome, we have the same team that did EMMA! Can't wait to meet and work with Sami, Mikko and Erin again!

And I can't wait for you to hear the new single and see the video!!

We only have a couple of more things to record for the album and after that it's ready! I promise that you're gonna love it!

This week we're gonna play unplugged on the streets of Helsinki, so stay tuned on Facebook and see you sooon!

LUV YA,

-Axl

Stop Vining, I'm just 7 min late!!!

Thank you Sysmä for a great gig last Saturday!! It was great fun to see so many people there, even though it took a big effort to get to the place, Ilolan Kievari. I'm sure it paid off, cause we delivered one of our best gigs so far. Many new songs, and even two covers on the setlist. And thank you Ilolan Kievari once more for assisting on our EMMA music video!!!! You're the best!

After the gig we stayed in Sysmä hangin' with Ollis cousins & co. We stayed in a hunting hut with stuffed animals all over the place, and a beautiful lakeside sauna. We also destroyed the neighbors dock b.t.w. whoops.... Still feel a bit sorry for that =D

^^Writing lyrics is fun. C:

Album deadlines are approaching us, and right now we're perfecting the lyrics of the last few songs on the album. Hard!! [pretending to write lyrics, while I'm actually writing this blog, haha] Lyrics are a tough cookie!!

We met AVICII (from a distance) last friday!! It was raining a little, but by the end of the gig we could see the sun behind the silhouettes of the rainclouds.

Our new friend Sony(c)

Oh and I've got a new iPhone 5 as all of you have noticed, so I'm quite into this instagram thing now as it's new to me (my Nokia didn't support it X/ ). But the best thing so far is an app called Vine!! Go check it out, and follow us, @satincircus!!! I'll be posting lots of stupid, and artistic videos there as often as I can!

This is what a Vine looks like, and then it just loops forever!! Genius:

Couldn't make up my mind on a good title, so I made it a statement!!! Is it too much demanded to write a blog post every four weeks?!?!? ... =D Apparently!

See you in another four weeks!!

//Paul

PS!!

I like cooking a lot, so I thought I'd share some of my creations here in the blog! I'll call it Rediculously Experimentally Culinarist Paul's Extreme Cooking Thread, or informally R.E.S.P.E.C.T. I have always wanted a food blog of my own, and now I get it... yeyyyy!!

The other day I cut some fresh beetroot(punajuuri) to make some healther french fries. I call it "french beats"

As a main dish I prepared some Chili con Chorizo, as in Chili con Carne, but swap the "carne"(meat) with a hot spanish chili sausage called Chorizo! Es la leche!!
Just add some mayonnaise, and Voilà! A perfect hot summer day dish!!
Yesterday i made some "pasta scamorza". Scamorza is an Italian smoked mozzarella type cheese. I found one in the store the other day, and it looked so funny that I had to try it (see picture). Anytime I see something in the grocery store that I haven't tasted I buy it and try it, thats my motto! Well this is the resulting pasta. It tasted smoky and rich. I tried not to cover up the taste of the cheese with other ingredients, so I kept it very plain with only onions and tomatoes besides the scamorza.

Allright!

Thats about it! What a long PS...

PPS.

Take care
//Paul

The Sunset Blog

Hey Popsters,

It's been another great week! And I can't think of a better way to end it that this, which is writing a blog in a park as the sun sets in the horizon :)

Writing this blog entry...

So I was about to start writing this blog entry at home, and I was feeling a bit sorry to sit inside as I could see the beautiful weather outside. I sat there on the sofa, but didn't get anything done since all I could do was just to stare out of the window as the sun set behind the roof tops, and that's when it hit me. I took my laptop and a blanket and went to the park next to our building. So here I am sitting in Koffin Puisto writing the blog and listening to Dire Straits in the beautiful sunset. This is the only way I'm going to do this in the future! :D

We had a great day today. We wrote a new song that we all liked a lot. The last couple of weeks haven't been our most productive ones, so it feels great to finally get some results from ones work. It's a great song and I'm pretty sure it's going to end up on our upcoming album.

Another great thing about today was that we finally got the unplugged versions of some of our new songs to work. We've been working on those for sometime now and today they finally started to sound the way we wanted them to sound. Our songs have a big "in-your-face" sound and sometimes it can be really difficult to come up with an arrangement for the unplugged instruments without losing the original feeling of the song. We have an unplugged gig coming up next Saturday in Sysmä, so you can come to check it out yourself if we did good today :D

Like those of you who follow us on Instagram already know, we went boating yesterday. It was a beautiful evening as we cruised along the Helsinki coast line. The water was smooth as glass and the sunset colored everything orange and red. It was our first trip of this summer, but it won't be the last. There's a certain calmness in floating on still water, lying on the deck as the stars come out that you can't find anywhere else. It's a great feeling that everybody should experience at least once in their lifetime.

Ready to take off

Ps. We met Samu Haber from Sunrise Avenue today at the studio. He seems like a great guy, and I hope we do gigs together in the future :)

Pps. As some of you might have already noticed, Paul got an iPhone 5 a couple of days ago. Our Instagram and Vine are filling up with crazy photos and videos :D

Paul on Instagram :D

Ppps. Some girl sitting next to me has the most wonderful perfume. I'm mesmerized… ;D
