New tunes and Berlin...afternoons....?

How are you Popsters? We're doing great, thanks for asking :)

We're living crazy times right now with Satin Circus. We've got some new partners who are giving us new inspiration and pushing us to work harder than ever on our songs. I have to say that I have never worked this hard, such long hours and I've never been this exhausted at the end of the day. And that is a lot said, since we've been working very hard for a long time. But since this is exactly what we want to do, working harder = being happier ;)

If the past few weeks have been busy, the next week is going to be even more hectic if possible. We're gonna keep on working on new songs, but that's not all. We're having a gig on Wednesday at Korjaamo (in Töölö, Helsinki) with a Swedish artist called Alina Devecerski! She had the second most played tune on Spotify last month, so this gig is a big deal. We're gonna give all we've got and have the best and biggest show so far, and you don't want to miss that! :)

Now, one might think that there would be enough for one week in these things alone, but since we're Satin Circus we're not gonna stop there. First thing Thursday morning we're gonna get on a plane and fly to Berlin, where a festival called Berlin Music Week is taking place. We're gonna stay there for a week playing gigs, promoting Satin Circus, taking part in the conferences, meeting German music industry people, playing in the streets and having fun! We had so much fun in Tallinn a few months ago, so we're really looking forwards to this!

Ps. I'm so sorry that I haven't able to have as much contact with you Popsters in the past two weeks as I should have had :/ We've been so busy, but I promise that this is not gonna be a permanent stage. You guys are the most important thing to us. You keep us going! We heart you <3

Pss. We found this super cool new place in Helsinki called Milli Miglia. It's in the corner of Kalevankatu and Albertinkatu. Go check it out! :)

Summer nights and the future's looking bright

It's that time again. School has started! You get to meet friends and go back to your routines. On then streets everyone is buzzing around looking busy and important. The summer was lovely! Oh, it really was. But it feels good to return to your normal habitual life. But this year is a little bit different for us. Instead of sitting in a dull class in school, we're together working on our music. We pick the schedule, we are free! It feels super good! Right now we're in our studio. Axel is playing his toy synthesizer trying to figure out a melody with Olli. And I'm writing this delayed blog. Paul is on his way! All this freedom doesn't mean that we have an easy time. Hard work is certain if you want to succeed! But it's lovely to get to work hard with good friends!

So what have we done the last week? We have some interesting negotiations going on. Unfortunately I can't tell you more but you'll see soon :) We've had some good songwriting sessions as well! New songs are ready and we can't wait for you to hear them!  Enjoying the last bits of summer has also been quite high up on our priority list :)

Yesterday we announced the winner of the Peach Party - contest. Congratulations Silja! We're so excited about spending an afternoon with you! :D

This week, the first real week of school & work is an important one! The attitude is all in your head, be happy and positive about it. It's much more fun that way! I hope you all have a great start on this term. Some of you have been asking when our next gig is. Guess what? We're doing a spontaneous gig this week somewhere at some time. So be on your watch, look out and stay tuned!

See you next week!
Stay classy dear Popsters - krippe ~~~ヾ(^∇^)'ー♪

unplugged shows, Hanko gig and peach party video!!

Hey Popsters! It's been a crazy week once again...

On wednesday we played an unplugged gig at Yobot Frozen Yogurt and as you can see it was pretty great! Everbody seemed to know all our lyrics and the frozen yogurt tasted better than ever!

Thanks to everybody who came! As we practiced our unplugged set we thought about something: why not go out in the streets and play??? There was no apparent reason for not having done that every day in the summer so we thought it's better to do it late than never! We took our stuff, put it up on the Eplanade and started playing!

We've been playing in the city a few times now and everybody's reaction has been really positive. We've also got a lot of new fans, and we're now more sure than ever that there has to be something right in what we're doing beacause so many people seem to enjoy it! We'll be playing in the streets this week too so keep your eyes and ears open for us if you are in the city ;)

Thursday was a big day for us, the launch of our very first music video! That was also the first time we released a song from our EP that we finished in the spring. In just one day we got more than 2500 views and now we're up in 6000!!! Thats absolutely amazing, thank you all so much<3!!! The way you've helped us really means the world to us! And please keep watching, sharing and telling your friends about the video so we can reach as many people as possible!

On Saturday we played a gig in Hanko, and that was reaaaally awesome!! We were the headliners for the South FM Festival, organized by South FM, a summer radio station that has been playing some of our songs this summer. The place was full and people were dancing and singing! This is what we live for <3 There's no better feeling than standing on the stage when the audience is singing along! We also played a song we haven't played for more than 4 months, Party on Facebook, one of my favorites! The new synth sounds makes it sooooo much better than before ;)

Before the gig we were chilling at the beach with our sound guy Krisse. (although I wuold prefer to call him Krille..) Having an own sound technician was soo nice, and we even got to use this thing we call "langattomat korvat", thats a Krippeism, and it really means wireless in-ear monitors, and they make moving on the stage easier because we're not tied anywhere!

our crazy glasses and krippe's crazy dance moves ;)

On Sunday we did an interview for Suosikki and that will be released soon! We've also been doing interviews and stuff for Vasabladet, Demi, Koululainen and other papers. We'll have to wait for some of those but the thing in Vasabladet was released a couple of days ago!

Here's the music video if you somehow have managed not to see it yet! ;)

Remember, from everyone who shares it we draw a winner (+ one friend) who gets to meet us, the whole band! We've got a really special afternoon planned, so you'd better share it ;)

This week we'll have a couple of very interesting meetings, some vocal recordings and a lot of other stuff, stay tuned!!

ps. I'm really excited about some new stuff I bought. My Retina Display Macbook Pro, the fastest laptop in the world, makes our live synths work faster and better than ever, and my new saxophone, a King Zephyr from 1952 (!!!!!) has the poppiest sound you've ever heard! Come to our gigs and see for yourself ;)

The sheer importance of shareing!

Haha! Crazy Satin Circus day today! We were at the practice place for like six hours, doing only paperwork and calls. You would not believe many of the things that compose a normal day in life for a band. XD All it calls for is a good "what we really do" meme! But I'll leave that to somebody else... Luckily we have a lot of fun too! Like yesterday when we had band practice from 9 p.m. to midnight, and afterwards watched the London Olympics men's 100m finals together in a sports bar (I won't insert That picture here :]]])

But what's causing all this paperworkfuzz? Well, it's our new music video of course!!! We've prepared the launch for "Peach Party" as thoroughly as ever possible, and the magic moment of the release is now final: Thursday 9th of October at 5 p.m.! Precise!

Now, when we've done everything we could have done to make a good song, a good video, and arranged as much media coverage as possible for it, it is really just up to you, dear fan, to make this the youtube-hit it wants to be.

On Thursday 9th, the dearest thing you, as my friend or as fan (or both) can do, is to SHARE the video! I promise to personally give you a hug of at least 20 seconds when we meet next time, if you SHARE Peach Party. Thats also why we created THIS event! Sheer SHAREING is sheer LOVE!

I'm not superstitious, but I believe this is a good sign:
I found Four (4!) four-(4!)-leaf clovers by the sidewalk just an hour ago! Thats crazy! One for each Satin Circus member mabye? xD But!!! That's not it! Just before I went inside I found a Five leaf clover!!!! And not only one!!! TWOOOO! SHIIIEET EVEN THO I'M not A BELIEVER, SUPERSTITIOUS, HYPPoCrite... I still BEliEVE in Common SENSE, AND this IS NOT NORMAL!?!? BIoloGY was one of my strong subjects in school, and I KNOW you don't find five leaf clovers every day!!! Let alone TWOO! (or then Espoo is just a huge dumpster for some kind of radioactive waste...witch actually would make a lot of sense... (just joking :]))

Or mabye it was sheer luck! ;)

And remember our Yobot gig on Wednesday! I won't share the event, 'cause there's gonna be serious problems making the 58 people already attending fit into the bar. =D Haha, ok. Here: GIG <3 I advice you to be on time if you want to see anything. =]
But...POPSTER HINT! Tomorrow, if you're lucky, you can spot us playing unplugged on the streets! (somewhere near Esplanadi in Helsinki)
